Supervision

SUPERVISION AS SHARED AND CREATIVE ENQUIRY

I see supervision as a collaborative space where we cultivate curiosity, creativity and different possible ways of understanding how to support people through therapeutic work.

When working as a clinical supervisor, I bring together a systemic and a psychodynamic approach, using multiple lenses (and, and, and), whilst holding the uncertainty that comes from allowing space to unconscious processes.

In supervision I join forces with you in bringing the people you work with and their contexts at the centre of our reflections and conversations.

We think together how therapy can support people in overcoming their challenges by helping them tap into their own resources.

I might suggest the use of tools and therapeutic interventions that could help with the process of navigating personal / collective / social challenges.

I support you in reflecting on therapeutic relationships, including transference and countertransference, by holding insights lightly and through curiosity, and I encourage you to take into account the differences with the people you work with by using an intersectional framework.

I also find it important to bring into our supervision considerations about your professional context, including the relationship between me and you and our differences when relevant.

As a queer therapist with a passion for gender, sexuality and relationship diversity, I especially welcome supervision with therapists who engage personally and professionally with LGBTQIA+ and GSRD communities, as well as practitioners interested in anti-oppressive practices at large.

MENTORSHIP, TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY

I worked as a lecturer in academia for many years and I have long-term experience teaching and supervising the written work of people in the areas of fine art, visual cultures and art psychotherapy.

I’ve always been interested in writing beyond academic constraints, starting from personal experiences and working towards socio-political transformation.

I can offer mentorship supporting people in exploring their own approach to writing as a transformational practice.

My doctoral research explored the work of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari and how it can help us think and practice differently about organisations, relationships and the potential for change.

Together with other people, I put into practice my learning in self-organised projects in Italy, Spain and the UK.

We were inspired by Guattari’s experience with “institutional analysis” as a practice to reorganise institutions so that the encounters of the differences people bring with them can be fostered, held and proliferate.

When supporting groups and organisations, these experiences with self-organisation come together with the therapeutic approaches I use as a therapist.

A psychodynamic approach allows us to take into account the unconscious processes that shape interpersonal dynamics within teams and organisations, such as defences, splitting and projections.

A systemic approach comes with tools that help bring clarity to the functioning of structures within organisations, whilst using intersectional frameworks (social GRACES).

Together with an ecological approach it might help us consider wider socio-political dynamics as well as learn from more-than-human forms of organising.

I like to tailor trainings and experientials for collectives, teams and organisations, encouraging the use of tools like mapping, formulations and timelines, whilst welcoming artmaking and creativity.

I am especially interested in offering support to groups and collectives that are self-organised and embrace anti-capitalist, decolonial, trans-feminist and ecological principles and practices.
